The Fossil Fueled Porkers

SS Raymond and bbq cookerBrother Raymond has the rig clean and ready to smoke some butts starting Friday.  The Fossil Fueled Porkers will once again prepare and donate their award winning bbq and sauce for our Memphis BBQ Feast.

Here’s a little history about this fantastically talented and generous team:

The team was formed in the 1980’s and has competed every year in various events.  Past events include competitions in Southaven, Millington, Lakeland, and Memphis in May.  They won first place in the “anything but pork” category at Memphis in May, first place for their sauce at Memphis in May, first place for shoulders in Southaven, and second place for shoulders at Memphis in May in years past.

They have done charity cooks for several years for Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Martha’s Manor, Oakhaven High School, and Sacred Selections.

The team also cooked for several years for the TVA Super Challenge held in Murfreesboro.

We truly appreciate their generous donation of time, effort, and wonderful food.  This bbq really is some of the best you will ever eat and some of us think it IS the best bbq around.  Don’t miss out on this wonderful feast.  Register here.

Assorted Blue Willow Dishes

This lot of blue willow cups and saucers plus a creamer has pieces from at least two different sets. These would be fun to use for a mismatched table setting, a tea party, or as darling little planters to take to shut-ins, new mothers, and hospital patients.

Use your imagination! How would you use these little treasures?

2014 Fundraiser Recap

Recap and total for 2014 Barlett Benefit for Sacred Selections:

We started the month of June by hosting the Bartlett Station Farmer’s Market and came home with $200 in craft sales and donations. Two weeks later we had a HUMONGOUS yard sale and brought our total up to $1500.

This past weekend we had our largest attendance ever for the Annual BBQ and Auction where Chuck and Nancy Hartwigsen were honored for their support of Sacred Selections and the BIG announcement was made that the 100th child’s adoption has been funded through Sacred Selections. WOW! And last but not least we now have a total for the Bartlett Benefit for Sacred Selections 2014 — drumroll please……...$42,305!!!!

What wonderful people we know who support Sacred Selections so well. God has blessed the Fuge family. Kevin and Allison can bring home Baby Fuge with no worries about the adoption expenses and another child (or two) can be helped as well. Thanks so much for all who were involved in this endeavor!

Help us decorate the tables for the BBQ Feast

Last year we featured vintage collectibles on our tables and had such a great time decorating.  Everyone who attended enjoyed seeing all the different items.

This year we thought we would let everyone in on the fun.  Do you have a collection?

Let us know that you want to participate and tell us what you want to bring.  The possibilities are endless.  It will be so much fun to check out the tables and see who decorated each one.

We will have 60″ round tables covered with black table cloths. You can change the tablecloth, add an over cloth,  and arrange your collectibles.  Our event will start at 4:00.  Please arrive between 3:00 and 3:30 to decorate your table.  The tables MUST be decorated by 3:45 PM.
